Hi there. Just noticed the non beta release of 2.10 and had it installed with some testing. This version is performing very differently from previous versions. My system has not changed a single bit besides the installation of the newly released 2.10 non beta over the 2.10_beta1 I was using flawlessly before. Audio interface is Echo Audiofire8.
1.) Wavelab and Recycle both play back waves at double time and with a delay type sound to it. This have NEVER happened before. Playing around with the settings of ASIO4ALL had these issues stopped once 'hardware buffer' was enabled. In the past I never had to use this option to get Wavelab and Recycle to play back. Enabling/disabling ports does not help, nor does raising/lowering latency. At least there is a workaround, but why do I suddenly require hardware buffering be enabled to be able to use ASIO4ALL with both Wavelab and Recycle where as I previously never had to?
2.) Cubase 5.1.1 now plays back with stutters and intermittent dropouts. No rhyme or reason, just does it during playback. Playback will very briefly halt and I will notice the ASIO4ALL tray icon change from the green play button to a red box with a yellow exclamation mark. This too NEVER happened in previous versions, ever. Nothing in my system has changed. I thought it might have been doing this on busy projects but even very basic projects playback just the same. Enabling hardware buffering does help to minimize this, but not completely eliminate it. I only tried to enable the hardware buffering option as I know it did well in Wavelab and Recycle to get them to play where as they previously wouldn't. Again, enabling/disabling inputs/outputs and raising/lowering buffer size does nothing. I noticed the changelog that changes have been made for application incompatibilities and performance improvements in Windows 7 which is what I am using. 64 bit BTW. Not sure exactly what is going on, but something under the hood has changed the way this new version works on my system. I was looking forward to the changes listed in the changelog, but unfortunately, I cannot use the version the way it is. Can anyone chime in on possibly what is going on? I hope it isn't just me and it is something that can be remedied either on my end, or through an update to the ASIO4ALL should the problem lie in the new build itself.
Thanks for reading, I look forward to any and all replies.
