I am experiencing an annoying problem where both the recorded and playback volume levels are somewhat attenuated at the start of a recording session. At some arbitrary point in time, the volume level pops into a higher, and more acceptable level. I've tried all the usual fixes for A4A and searched this forum for possible solutions without success.
Of course it is possible that the problem is not ASIO4ALL. Hopefully someone can provide a clue or a solution nonetheless. Thanks in advance for any help.
My setup is:
Intel Pentium 4 running at 2 gHZ Windows XP-3 32-bit ASIO4ALL v2.10 Sonar 8 Producer Alesis Multimix 12, using the Windows installed USB CODEC

Problem fixed!?!?
Not long after posting this problem, the input dropped out completely and I could not record at all through the USB CODEC. After many hours of wrestling for a solution I realized I was running v2.10 of ASIO4ALL. I installed v2.11 Beta1, and...
Success! No more problems. I only hope this v2.11 Beta works well with a new 64-bit machine I plan on building next month.
