Ok, here's an odd one. The 16 bit input on my SoundMAX (Dell 8300) works, but the output (20bit 6 channel) shows up as being either in an 'Unknown' state or 'Not Available'.
This used to work fine under ASIO4ALL 1.8
Setup: Dell 8300, SoundMAX embedded audio, M-Audio delta 44 installed, but disabled via the ASIO4ALL control panel.
Thoughts?

I have exactly the same problem on a Dell Inspiron 5150 (SigmaTel C-Major Audio). Also with the version 2.6 driver.
The output is unavailable but input is OK.
Weird thing is, that this is only the case in energyXT. In Brainspawn forte, it is working fine.

Sorry! Problem solved.
The MS GS Wavetable Synth had been enabled, when I had removed my USB MIDI adapter. I din't notice...
It works fine now, after disabling the GS Synth.

Pardon the stupid question, but how do you disable the MS GS Synth? Via Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices - Audio tab? It is usually fully sufficient to disable the MS GS Synth as a MIDI out port in your audio application. Most orf the time, this is as easy as unchecking a check box somewhere. As far as Logic, you need to edit "WIN.INI" If that doesn't help, I remember there was a registry hack posted by someone like one year ago that you can search the forum for.

Hello everyone! i'm having a problem here, and i'm new in this field, you see i have a casio lk50 connected via midi usb, so i have some few vst, and i've downloaded the asio4all to remove the latency, but in those VST when i select the asio4all it doesn't makes any sound, when i go to the asio4all the output options say: "Out : 6x 8-48kHz, 16 bits ( Status: Unavailable! >-In use by another application? >- MS GS' wavetable synth enabled? ) what can i do to solve this problem?

Hello all! I have FINALLY figured the solution to making ASIO4all to work on Ableton! Follow these steps (worked for me - Vista): 0. Close "Ableton". 1. Go to "Control Panel" 2. Go to "Hardware & Sound" 3. Go to "Sound" 4. Double click "Speakers" or watever your main playack device is. 5. Go to the "Advanced" tab. 6. Disable the "Exlusive Mode" - Uncheck "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device." 7. Click "OK" - and you're done! Before opening Ableton again, go to the "ASIO4all Offline Settings" (should be under the ASIO folder in "All Programs"). Go to "Advanced Options" Make sure the "Always Resample 44.1kHz <-> 48kHz" is checked, with everything else unchecked. Under the "WDM Device List", make sure that your audio device has the green "play" icon showing beside it. If it's not shown, then just click the "power button" you see beside it. It should activate it, and everything should have the green play icon (if you expand the list more). I hope this helped. The main part of this whole thing is to disable the "Exclusive mode" (Steps 1-7). PeAcE.
