Hmm.. output "unavailable", but you hear the metronome beating?

The only way this could be possible is the metronome being a MIDI beat. You did check your MIDI settings so as to not use the MS GS Wavetable Synth, didn't you?

Yes, Michael, I did. And the metronome is not a MIDI beat: I even tried to modify wav sounds for the beats, and I still could hear'em (they're wav files). The problem must be related to some kind of incompatibility between ASIO4ALL and Realtek HD line in devices.
As I've already said, direct sound seems to work (with and intolerable latency though).

It actually is just mic input device which becomes unavailable (and not the output). Both the line in and the output are available and seem to be working all right. Even the input meter in Windows audio control panel moves, and if I try recording with Windows sound recorder, the clean sound of my guitar is recorded (though it is not hearable during recording).
I would like to remember, though, that Windows sound recorder does not use ASIO, and there's no way you can force it to use them: it records in direct sound only.

Hello

I've got a similar Soundcard and also Windows Vista, and I can't run Guitar Combos -the program that came with the Behringer USB UCG102- with the ASIO protocol. Only with directsound, but it sounds with delay. Does anybody have the solution?

I had the same problem, and after messing arround I found the solution :

1.Seperate all the input and output channels in the Realtek manager (Advanced devicesettings or something like this )
2.Open up GuitarRig
3.Open the asio2all controllpanel from inside of GR
4.Expand the "Realtek HD Audio" tree and activate the "Microphone ( pink ) front" and deaktivate the digital input just to be sure

after that, go to guitarrig and change input 1/2 to microphone pink front 1/2

works fine for me with linein too ( got the GIGABYTE realtek driver that should be something arround 1.86)

Oh man, I thought I was the only one..... I have a Toshiba Satellite A305D-S6848 with HD Audio, its updated to the latest version, and I am using Cubase AI 4.1.3 and a Yamaha Motif XS8. Thing is I don't want to be hooked up with the mLan Firewire cable all the time, so I would like to work with midi files using HalionOne as a VST... I tried ASIO4All 2.8 and 2.9, but its the same thing.... No matter how long I set the latency, AI4 gives me no sound, although I disabled all uneded interfaces and tried everything.......... HELP!

I just want to use the 2 audio outputs, nothing more... thing is when I use ASIO4ALL they all become inactive according to cubase ai4...

me too. i even contacted realtek... no reply. for the solution with the r186 driver version: tried it, but my computer gives out an error message when i try to install the old driver. there must be a solution, it is no rocket science i think.

hi i was facing with same problems in my sony vaio nb,

in the asio control panel o/p was not available and i had to use directx for audio..

and solved it by increasing the sample rate to the highest available in the realtek hd control panel for both speakers and mic.

The same with me....

Trying to get my Amplitube Metal or Guitaar Rig working....
I have Vista Home Premium, Realtek HD...

When all inputs are enabled, microphone is "beyond logic" in asio panel...
When i disable others, microphone is "active" and everything should work, but ......

There simply is no any input!!!!!!!!

With DirectX or MME(in Guitaar Rig) there's sound, but it's awful...
Already tried reinstalling drivers, useless...

I'm desperate......

I really hope this issue will be fixed in the final 4.9 release of ASIO4ALL! It is so annoying that it won't work!!!

Unfortunately, it is not entirely clear what the actual issue in this thread really is. It sort of started as "unavailable output" -> There is a clear answer to that already (nothing to fix).

And then several folks with unrelated issues chiming in having "exactly the same problem", but now it is inputs all of a sudden and all it may take is to enable (and turn up) the Microphone Boost in the Realtek Control Panel...

So this thread is not about one specific issue and therefore it cannot be said for certain if either of the multitude is going to be "fixed" in the next release, if there is anything to fix to begin with.

I would like to inform you that as i use windows vista and i couldn't solve that kind of problem install the "virtual pc" program that you can run windows xp from your windows vista and your problems propably will be solved !!!
