The reason that some folks are getting ASIO4ALL to work on some 64-bit systems is (probably) that they're running 32-bit apps. 64-bit systems run 32-bit apps in a Windows-On-Windows emulation mode. 32-bit apps can load 32-bit DLLs like ASIO4ALL, but 64-bit apps can't. It's more of an application flavor issue than a platform issue I think.

Guys i don't think misic software developers will run and jump in hurry to release 64-bit versions of their software. No matter that Microsoft says, but most thing that wants everyone and me is to have ASIO4ALL working under 64-bit OS with 32-bit applications on the first step...and with 64-bit applications as well in more far future.

Hi, Yes cubase4, nuendo4 and sonar7 are now 64-bit native applications. I think the others will be very soon. Cheers

I'm confused by some of the posts above. Does asio4all function under 64bit Vista? I'd love to be able to use it on my 64bit systems.

As far as the current state of affairs, it is supposed to work on Vista 64, but only for 32 bit _applications_. If you are planning to use the onboard HD audio sound, there is another issue in as far as with the default ASIO4ALL settings, it will not work @ 44.1kHz. If you're hit by this issue, there's a workaround available from here or simply check the "Always resample..." box in the ASIO4ALL control panel. What does not work yet is support for 64 bit _applications_.

Any ideas?

replying to myself: never mind, this seemed like an issue with the built-in vista drivers for the soundmax onboard audio, installing the soundmax drivers seems to have made things work

You folks are absolutely right...I too am having trouble getting 64-bit applications to recognize ASIO4ALL. 64-bit OS running 32-bit apps works perfectly but the 64-bit apps refuse to see it, for reasons explained above.
Seems to be a fact of life as of now.

I'm using an Intel Quad Q6600 with 4GB and and Windows XP Pro x64 If you use more than 3GB there is no other way than installing a 64-Bit OS. Large ammounts of RAM will be standard in future so we (community) really neeeed true x64-support i would extremely appriciate a re-developement in c++ .. this would be a dream and for sure many users (like me) would donate Michael ;D

I'm sure that the 64-bit version of this will come out soon enough. Waiting sucks, but gotta do what you gotta do. I'm just eager to try out all kinds of 64-bit applications, but until ASIO4ALL comes 64-bit native, I guess I'll stick with 32-bit SONAR running under Vista x64.
This is a godsend app, btw, like everyone says. Thank you for it.
