I have just downloaded the new asio4all driver, and OH MY GOD, finally, the realtek HD audio codec is listed in the offline settings, which means I can now use traktor DJ studio 2+3 WITH headphones for monitoring my re-routing the audio stream.
So to clarify, you are all GODS, and If I had money, I would seriously send you some! ASIO4All + Vista home premium + the REALTEK HD audio codec + the latest ASIO4All now shows the REALTEK HD Audio codec in the offline settings.
Seriously, THANK YOU! - Im ill, and have been for a week, but this today, has cheared me up no end!
Thanks again!

I completely and wholeheartedly agree with you. My VST instruments had horrible latency with the Realtek driver -- 30 - 40 ms! ASIO4ALL saved the day. Latency problems are gone.
I came back to the site today to look for a PayPal button to donate some money to the developer(s)... you guys ROCK!

Unfortunately I can't confirm this for Windows XP SP2/32. Tried the latest Realtek driver (v1.88) with asio4all 2.8 final but no worky unless i choose really large buffer size (=high latency). Guess I gotta go back to the old Realtek drivers (~v1.61) that work fine withasio4all :/

Then the sound starts to crackle really bad. If I just open the ASIO4ALL console and close it, the crackling stops. But after some time it's back again... I have tried to increase the latency of ASIO4ALL to maximum, but it doesn't help. It does lenghten the time of when the crackling returns though, at least I think, but I'm not sure... Any ideas what could this be?? I am using Vista 64bit and Traktor 3.3.2, my audio device is Realtek ALC883.

Never mind, I've solved the problem (I hope ;D ). At first I've had two devices enabled on the WDM Device List. Now I've enabled just one device - Realtek HD Audio, and it is working great for almost an hour now. I'm soooo happy ;D It's running stable @ 11.5ms of latency, which is more than enough for my use.. Many thanks to the author of this wonderful program

It was long time ago, when I was solving a problem with Realtek ALC268 + Vista + Guitar Rig. I was still updating the driver, week after week, but nothing got better, so I decided to write to realtek about my issue and 2 weeks later they realeased newer driver. I read the specification and in the Add/Fix part I saw: 3. Fix bug for the specific customer. Really funny to me, but the important is that it works ;D The worse thing and also better is that I switched back to XP. Vista sucks a lot, maybe after 5 service pack it will be good.

Bugger, I get unavailable no matter what I do for Realtek HD Audio Output - Beyond logic for Mic Input and stereo input, Available for cd input, and available for Realtek HDA SPDIF Out.
Tried stuffing around with a few things, doesnt change anything in the menu at all, might have to rollback to xp i think. can include a dxdiag if anyones interested? regards

Tried stuffing around with a few things, doesnt change anything in the menu at all You certainly tried to disable all inputs and outputs except for the ones you are going to use, e.g. enable analog out and line in, disable everything else? Output still "unavailable"? Another audio application running at the same time? MS GS Synth enabled? ... Provide exact steps how to reproduce the problem! Alternatively: De-install the Realtek driver blaotware and use the Vista in box HDA driver instead. In Vista, you do not really need a vendor supplied driver for High Definition Audio devices.

So what I did was changed my default output device to something that I don't care to use with the ASIO for this session, log off (no need to reboot) and log back on. Voila, my Realtek HD primary output is available to ASIO. You can then even change the default output back, as asio4all still reports the other device as unavailable. I don't know if this is a bug or just an eccentricity of trying to get it working with Vista, but finding this workaround let me use my new Behringer iAxe with Vista x64. Thanks so much for this utility!

Normally the beyond logic message wont appear anymore, and ull have a selection of inputs in the Asio4All control pannel.

Just got this setup (vista/realtek hd) working on my laptop. THANK YOU! I am so happy my latency is finally down! i didn't think it would be possible. Just one thing, I may be spoiled using soundcard asio drivers on my desktop, but should it take a minute or two for ASIO4ALL to load when the program starts up? It seems very slow, but I imagine it's changing things behind the scenes. how long do you all wait? I'm loading Ableton Live. is there some better way of doing this? Thanks!!!!!!

Confirmed working on Realtek HD Audio + XP Professional SP2. Thank you, Michael. You're the best. What kind of latency are you seeing? I'm getting about 15ms. Was much better in Vista, but Vista was too much for my laptop to handle.

Hey I don't use any recordings at all i use premiere with asio and i get instant sound! zero latency and I use soundbooth with premiere opened in asio too and a second asio4all icon opens up and everything works smoothly this guy who created asio4all is a genius, it works even when my computer opens after effects! More than that: it let's me monitor audio really good without all those crappy optimizations in my Realtek ALC883 green control panel thing with windows vista x64 can't wait for adobe CS4 to see it rock with asio4all
THANK YOU
