Hi, I'm looking for a tool that does the opposite; takes ASIO sound card outputs, and allows them to be used from an application supporting WDM.
Does anyone know of such a thing, or could the code of ASIO4ALL be 'rearranged' top perform this function...?
Given I cant find a tool to do this, is there some reason why this absolutely cant be done?

Just for curiosity, why would you want that?

As I understand it, all sound cards use WDM, that's how they communicate with the OS, assuming you're using windows. ASIO is just an API between the software and the real kernel module of the real driver loaded by windows at startup. Most likely you just need to change your device settings in whatever app you are using.

im looking for the same thing. I would like to have serato live as my windows audio driver so that i can use internet through it.
Serato dont provide wdm drivers so the only use i get out of the box is with asio compatible programs.

If I understood correctly what is wanted, there's an audio software called Reaper that during its installation asks if you want to install some things.
If you install "things" you should have additional outputs become visible in software supporting ASIO. You can then tell your ASIO software to output to that output and the sound will go to Reaper.
Then for the non-ASIO software, you can use VAC (Virtual Audio Cable" to pipe that output also to Reaper..
Now you have both non-asio and asio soft inputs in reaper and you can record or whatever.
