I've been using ASIO4ALL with Cubase Studio 4 and a Lexicon Lambda USB external sound card with great results - much lower latency with VST instruments - I'm very happy!
However, I've just purchased one of the newer Logitech HD webcams (C510), and in all videos I've recorded, after 20 seconds or so, I'm getting pops & crackles. In this case I am *not* using ASIO4ALL, just the stock drivers Lexicon provides. Cubase of course has provisions letting me choose the driver for the hardware, but the webcam software does not. Upon launching of the webcam software, there is no ASIO4ALL icon in the task bar...so - is there any way to force ASIO4ALL driver to be the active one when I'm using the webcam or does the application have to be set up to allow one to choose?

I wanted to add this to my post above - perhaps the best solution would be to find capture software that I could use with the webcam that would allow me to select ASIO4ALL......any recomendations of something that isn't very expensive but a step up from these super-generic apps?
Thanks again, Russ

I'm using Sonar 8.5 and i got the ASIO4ALL driver working with following directions:
Install ASIO4ALL in vstplugin directory (don't know if it's necessary)
Reboot computer
Run Sonar 8.5
Go to Options - Audio (advanced tab)
set Driver Mode to Asio

Yeah, I don't get it. I try and locate the driver in my apps and there's no options on either of my systems. Even using my winamp 2.95 there is no asio4all option. I'd love to use it with my new system which has conflicts with the new realtech "HD Sound" driver on the x58 boards. I try to install asio4all as the hardware driver or try and select it in an individual app but it doesn't show up as an option. Just me realtech sound device is there. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! ~J

Ok, after install Ableton I noticed my ASIO4ALL working. It never showed up as an option in Winamp, WMP, or as a sound device but at least now it's an option for Sony Vegas and Ableton.
It doesn't show up until I'm working in one of the DAW's. Very strange because it seems like a lot of ppl are talking about using it with basic media players where I don't see it available.
Thanks! ;D

Hi there,
@ first, my English is very bad, sorry.
My Problem: I use the Broadcast-Automation "Radiobattler", my Soundcard is a Realtek AC97 with bad Latency.
So I try to use Asio4all to reduce the Latency. With v. 2.9 I got the same Problems there here to read. I tryed to copy the Files into the Plugin-Container from "Radiobattler"; RB is after Start not shown any Asio-Settings, no Ikon will come up. RB is still working with an "bass.dll" to give the Sound to the used Sondcard.
I remember, an odler Version (may be v2) of asio4all started as an own App where I can configure any Settings. I was thinkin', I can do there some Settings to "tune" the Soundcard for its Latency. Think I wrong? When no, can I do the same with v. 2.9? Remeber, RB is not a App that doesn't directly supported Asio, it will not be needed.
I will be happy, if anyone can tell me, how I have to do the right way to get lower Latency at my used Soundcard.
Best Regards Oldwood

Hi there,
an Update by my own.
You've bin reading, RB won't supoort asio4all. So we've tryed to made asio4all runnin' with Sam Broadcaster V4 in that way, we copyed the asio4all.dll's wich are in the Case of asio4all into the Plugin-Case from Sam.
After them, we restarted Sam. But Sam won't show Asio as a new Sounddevice. I can't get any Information in Web, that Sam do supoort asio4all or not. Can I get here some Informations like that?
If we do the same Way like before with BPM-Player, BPM is shown asio as a new Sounddevice. But BPM is'nt the wanted Player to use.
Some help 4 me?
Best Regaards Oldwood

Thanks for all the advice above.
i have got asio working with MediaMonkey and Windows 7 by
(1) downloading and unzipping the asio67 dll file and installing into the MediaMonkey plugins directory (2) downloading the asio4all dll files into the top-level MediaMonkey directory (3) restarting MediaMonkey.
pretty simple in the end. big leap in sound quality. big grin on my face because i have a new Beresford dac and AKG 242s on my head!
