I just hooked up a Samson Go Mic via USB to my Laptop. I run Cubase 5 with ASIO4ALL 2.10 with 256 latency and use the onboard headphone out for monitoring. The Go Mic records fine for about 1 minute, then crackles start and get worse until I disable the setting "always resample 44 <-> 48". Then, the mic records fine for about 5 minutes, then crackles start again and become worse over time. This does not have to do with CPU maxing out, as my computer is very fast. When I unplug the mic and restart Cubase, everything is fine; no crackles and barely using CPU at all.
With another ASIO DX full duplex driver, the mic works fine (no dropouts), but latency is fairly high. I believe his is some sort of sync conflict within ASIO4ALL.
Does anyone have a suggestion how to troubleshoot this?? I would love to use ASIO4ALL with the GoMic. Many thanks!

Hey! I'm experiencing exactly the same issue, but with Ableton Live instead of Cubase. (and a SAMSON C03U USB Mic) It seems like both audio "interfaces" are going out of sync at a time. If the mic starts crackling, it first gets worse and a few minutes (or less) later the crackling disappears again.. (as you just said) I think the only option is, to change any setting within the ASIO4ALL driver, or just open and close the panel.. So, i'll try to find a working solution.. but hopefully, as this ISSUE gets more popular, there will be a sweet bug-fix Still, any suggestions appreciated!! (hoping my grammar is fine // EDIT just found this one: mtippach.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Bugs&action=display&thread=2155and this.. mtippach.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Bugs&action=display&thread=2620

Interesting. I tried these suggestions at length, but nothing has changed. It is true that the GoMic seems to be set at 48kHz, 16bit, while I mostly work in 44kHz, 24bit. But even when setting up a project with 48kHz, 16bit, the crackles persisted.
I hope this can be fixed soon. I contacted Samson, and they suggested to not use VST and to use Audacity instead of Cubase. Almost started a tirade on them for such a suggestion, but luckily pulled myself together...
Most likely it is an internal ASIO4ALL issue, I think. Please let me know if you have found a solution in the meantime.

Has a solution to this problem been discovered?
I have a very similar issue using Nuendo with a Samson CO1U mic. After a few minutes of recording (or playback) if the mic is 'active' in ASIO4ALL (ver 2.10) static/distortion noise starts. It always seems to happen about 2-3 minutes in, but I can eliminate it by going to ASIO's control panel and turning the mic off and on again. It's only in the playback, because the recording (even if there is noise in my headphones while recording) is not there.

hey guys, maybe the Virtual Audio Cable 4.12 Software will help you out ( www.ntonyx.com/vac.htm ) The software is syncing all the audio devices, and in combination with A4A it's working just fine, even with lower latency than A4A standalone I can't hear any latency when using it with my C03U Mic, so recording guitars and stuff, with headphones on and all the effects activated is like a dream come true
