Hello, folks!
I'm using a combination of Adobe Audition CS6, Virtual Audio Cable (VAC), and ASIO4ALL -- or trying to.
It looks like ASIO4ALL is not passing sound through to Audition. Here is my setup:
1. In Audition, when MME is selected as 'Device Class' under Preferences - Audio Hardware, I get a single Default Input choice (among them Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, plus mic). I have 3 VACs set up, so this would be great -- if those choices carried over when I got to the Multitrack editor. They don't; when I use the multitrack all I am given is what appears to be two (2) channels for a given line in, e.g. Line 1 (Virtual Audio Cable) 1, Line 1 (Virtual Audio Cable) 2.
2. So I downloaded and installed ASIO4ALL, using first the most recent stable version, but also the new beta (both have same problem). I change the 'Device Class' in Audition to ASIO: ASIO4ALL shows up as the device. I leave 'Release ASIO driver in the background checked'.
3. Now in multitrack I have what looks like eight (8) different channels for each of the three virtual audio cables. On the ASIO4ALL control panel, I have unchecked everything except the virtual audio cables.
Here is where everything goes loopy. Last night I was getting different results than this morning. Last night I was getting nothing at all when set to ASIO in device class. For instance, I would try to record in multitrack editor -- two tracks at once -- one off a virtual audio cable from the USB mic (Samson C01U) and one off a VAC from MusicBee output. I chose the inputs, clicked 'Arm to Record' for both tracks and got nothing.
This morning, in the waveform editor, taking audio only from VAC1, I am able to record audio just fine. But in multitrack I still can't get a thing.
I'm quite baffled. I'm not sure why I can't get audio from two separate sources to display and record at once in multitrack editor. I've tried every channel available for each input.
