Hi everyone ! Here is my problem: I use Reaper to compose and record stuff , which is fantastic by the way, and an Alesis iO2 Express soundcard. This soundcard hasn't specific driver, alesis themselves recommending to use Asio4all. At first it worked fine, I guess. Then (but I dont remember if this problem was here form the beginning) it started to glitch sometimes, when I had a lot of tracks with effects on it. When I opened the Preferences menu or the effect panel, or another program like internet, there was a little shock . But by playing with asio buffer fader I was able to remove it. Now its everytime, I just tested 30 min ago, I have no tracks, I open the pref menu and GZZZT, the shock. And it's for real, when you have headphones on, this noise dril your tympans and perforate your brain, its awfull, I have headaches just by thinking of it x) Seriously I think it can be dangerous Its really annoying, and I don't know what's the problem: my laptop, the soundcard, asio, reaper... ? Should I return the soundcard, I don't knooow Actually, I don't have this problem when I use another audio device like Directsound or wave out, but I can't do anything whith those devices , the latency is as high as the mount everest... I made a recording of this noise (with my phone), here it is but please pay attention to your brain ! And this noise will haunt you untill the reste of your life... www.mediafire.com/listen/yh0aux03tc30wr8/AsioGlitchshort.mp3Can someone help me ?
