hi, I am using hercules mk2 sound card with vista o/s. I installed asio4all and already had the drivers from hercules installed. The asio4all dailog box recognizes the sound card and shows available, however when i change the settings in ableton to use the asio4all (instead of the asio that came with mk2) it freezes the program and it won't do anything. Should i uninstall the hercules drivers and use asio4all only? Should I keep the sample rate i used before or fiddle around with it? thanks

I'm using Vista, Traktor 3, a 24 bit external SB card and an Oxygen 8 midi controller.
I HAVE to use Asio4all in order to see all outputs on my soundcard and consequently be able to use headphone cue'ing through Traktor - my problem is that when I use this method Traktor won't recognise my midi controller. The only time it will recognise it is when I use the standard soundcard drivers - which means I can't use headphone cue'ing.
Any solutions to this dilemma?

Asio4All works with my Mackie Spike XD-2 on a XP SP2 laptop. I use it because the Mackie original ASIO driver freeze randomly when recording.
Asio4all is far more stable, but the latency is not as good as the original driver (when it works...).
Tanks to making this Spike usable

Doesn't work with zoom H4 can get sound but sounds like underwater at any latency. I don't use this on my laptop anyway but thought I should include it for reference.

My Lexicon Alpha works with reasonable latency. Under 10ms, better than native ASIO driver.

I'm using ASIO4All with a Turtle Beach Advantage Micro USB. Also using the drivers from Turtle Beach in order to turn on SPDIF output. Works like a champ!

Edirol UA 25 is working fine with 2.9 Beta 2
Im using it with Cubase SX3 and this works better than the Proprietary ASIO Driver from Edirol. about 3 ms latency without crashes.

Pod X3 Live works, however, with its own asio driver, there are more inputs than in asio4all... The podX3L allows use of dry inputs, etc, which doesn't offers a4a :/

Works perfectly using Kingrex T20U USB amp and Kingrex UD01 D-A converter. Both are recognised as "USB Speaker". Results are bloody phenomenal!

Has anyone had luck with the M-Audio Fast Track, now called the Fast Track USB? Its own ASIO drivers don't seem to work for me with Band in a Box or the related PowerTracks Pro Audio.
Thanks, Joe

I use Mackie Spike XD-2 and MS own USB drivers in Vista. In order to get Tracktion 3 to see Spike I had to install A4A v.2-drivers. Now my Traction works ok but all other programs causes awful digital noise after some minuter of playing. These programs include Flash Player plugin in both IE and FireFox, MS Mediaplayer etc. but does not affect VLC.
I have an integrated sound card on motherboard but I have disabled it both from Device Manager and Sound settings (in Control Panel). Does anyone have any suggestions how to fix this problem? There is no original drivers for Spike from Mackie.
