I'm trying to figure out if my Audigy Sound Blaster can use an ASIO driver.....and if it's safe to download form here! I want to use an audio application called Luna by MTools that calls for an ASIO audio driver. The app. makes no sound but the card is operating properly for stuff like listening to music and streaming audio from the web. The MTools support people say I need to install an ASIO for this app. to work. This computer is actually running Windows XP Media center edition 2002 Service pack 2. Would the card be currently running under an ASIO driver or do I need to download one? I have no idea. Please provide me with the proper download link. Also, if I download a new driver will it affect the way this card works for other things? I'll also need to know where this driver is found once it is installed. I'm a Mac person normally and still learning about PC stuff. I can no loger get any support for this card from creative and I've posted on the Creative forum, they're not sure if this card is ASIO compatible. This card came with the computer back in 2002. It's a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 24-bit and it's listed in the control panel as an Emu 10kaudio[C000] I noticed the virus warning on this site is from last year. is it safe to download the driver from here? Any reported virus issues with the mirror? Operating System: Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004 Creative Model Number: SB0230 Computer Brand/Model: Hewlett-Packard HP Media Center pc 873n Processor/CPU: 2.53 GHz. Memory: 1GB

Are you using Creative's drivers? Don't they support ASIO?

I have no idea. I don't know how to check on that or find them on this computer.

Sony Acid works fine on this machine, but I just don't know where the audio driver is stored in Windows XP on this machine. Any help would be great.

I would like to think that ASIO drivers are already installed, but if not you are sure to find some that work at either: Creative's site: www.emu.comor kx-project: kxproject.lugosoft.comkx-is a great replacement for Creative's own drivers, I've been using it a lot on my old EMU APS-card. Then I would guess you wouldn't even need ASIO4ALL! (God forbid!) And no, I don't think there should be any viruses in the executables on this site. ASIO4ALL is working too well to be infested by viruses. (And my avast! isn't arguing!)

In your application (if it supports ASIO) there should be a way of selecting the Audigy's ASIO driver... Yes, Audigy's support ASIO. Unless you have the default Windows drivers for the Audigy cards... if you do, maybe those don't support ASIO anyway, get Creative's Audigy drivers from here: www.creative.com/language.asp?sDestUrl=/support/downloads
