Hi,
I have bought X-fi 5.1 USB a week ago for my laptop, because I want to play guitar. My guitar goes in processor, and processor in card. And there's big latency. I don't want to use guitar rig or similar programs. Is there any solution to decrese that latency???

Just to share information, I found that someone wrote this:
I found out that this SoundBlaster x-fi USB surround 5.1 soundcard is a piece of crap for recording. but well, i already bought it and i still have no money to buy a more 'serious' converter. So i guess i have to make it work somehow. And, by the mercy of the Good Lord, i managed to figure out a workaround. For those of you (newbies) who had the same problem like me, here's the way i did it: JUST DONT INSTALL THE DRIVER THAT COMES WITH THE SOUNDCARD!. If you use windows OS, the usb soundcard will not need the bundled driver to run. Lmao. but yeh, it worked so fine, now my SB USB surround 5.1 can be utilize for recording with asio buffer as low as 96 samples. The latency is greatly reduced. A note of advice: DO NOT USE HARDWARE BUFFER OR IT WILL CRASH YOUR DAW.

YES! I got this working finally too! Problem: Using ASIO driver to handle (usb) Midi input for native instruments, East West, Etc., I would have the option to select ASIO driver, but when I go to "Routing" to make my Sound Blaster card handle output, I would not be able to select one (it shows Not Connected 1) or something like that. Thus I would be able to use ASIO to handle my input, but no sound would occur. Though I WOULD get normal sound in windows. (making me think my soundcard installed right) SPECS: -Windows 7 64bit -Soundblaster X-Fi Extreme Audio (PCI Express) -Using Native Instruments Kontakt /East West Orchestra in --> Acid Music Studio SOLUTION: [/a] But make sure you select your version of windows at the bottom and "submit" Then run the driver update. [/ul] This should allow for the Soundblaster card to handle output and ASIO to handle the usb input This was a huge headache for me today. if you have issues, skype me @ cory.mollenhour
