Hey everyone!
Having problems using ASIO4ALL in FL studio.
When i use my default sound card it plays sound fine, but i switch to ASIO4ALL and i get no sound :S
The speakers for my laptop have a red X through them even though only FL would be using it and no other application.
Any ideas?
Thanks Theador

Have exactly the same problem. Shame there's no answer Original driver works but latency is no good. ASIO4All is meant to be good latency, can see the instruments playing through the VU display but no sound from speakers or headphones.

I've always had the same problem with FL Studio, Reason, Reaper, etc., in Windows Vista 32bit with ASIO4ALL.
I don't know why it works, but what I have to do is this:
Every time I've used any other app that uses sound, whether it's a media player, YouTube, whatever, and then I go back into my DAW, my output is unavailable. But, if I go into my Windows playback devices, choose Properties for my output device, then click on the Advanced tab, then change to a different bit rate, my sound comes back.
It always works, so I've just gotten into the habit of doing that every time I open my DAW. If it's currently on 24bit 44,100 I change it to 16 bit 44,100. If it's currently on 16bit 44,100 I just do the opposite.
I don't know why it works, but it does every time, and has for the last few versions of ASIO4ALL. I've tried all other suggested settings everywhere and nothing else works. Wish I knew why I had to do this, and how to make it unnecessary, but at least I can always get sound...

Thanks for the hlep, this is a more technical problem than covered in the help file or the vide but it partially helped me to figure out what's wrong - I've only found a partial solution as yet, will update if I get it working fully. 1- The problem is that there IS another sound program using the output which disables ASIO audio. The solution is to close that program and restart the music program but the problem is that it's "Windows Wavetable" that's hogging the driver and there's no option to disable it. 2- I saw a few hardware hacks that allow you to assign this wavetable to a second sound card by activating it with a headphone jack, thus freeing up the ASIO for the primary soundcard. I bought a cheap USB soundcard but couldn't get this to work (might work with onboard or PCI cards though?) 3- There are also some software hacks to toggle the "exclusive" mode of the wavetable driver on and off inside the windows sound settings menu of the control panel. This appears to be an "experimental" option and is reported to work only in a few cases - luckily it helped with mine and I can at least get ASIO output from headphones now but still not speakers. 4- The solution is to disable the default wavetable or at least assign it to a different audio output while ASIO is running. I'm going to try and disable wavetable completely with "MSCONFIG" and see if ASIO works properly and more importantly to see if all my system audio still works (system sounds, video, mp3 playback etc.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsRtduINN8I&feature=related

Well I got mine to work. This is what I did. I'm using windows 7. I typed in msconfig. Went to services clicked "Hide all Microsoft services" And disabled Audio service IDT, IncI. And any other services I figured was using Asio. Restarted my pc. Now it works. So I hope this work for you guys too.

WOW! Thanks modalen. That fix works like magic! Your little exe just took over, gave me a little show and now the ASIO4ALL works in playback and input at the same time. Cool! You are the man! ;D
