I have a bit of a question. I'm a newbie on this front so i'm still experimenting. All these fancy softstudio and sequencers are so mindbogglingly complex that I can't figure out which one I like or could use (and I do have some experience having worked with most midi sequencers... ok, several years ago :-)). So before splashing out I'm testing the field. Presently I use Computermuzys (v1.5 -free with a magazine, so no quarrels there) and Magix studio deluxe 7 (which I picked up for 12€). Asi4all works great with computermuzys, but I can't get it to run with Magix (if i'm not mistaking that uses the Logic engine). Asio4all keeps complaining that the hardware is in use and returns error 999. Anyone have any suggestions? (I tried most of the FAQ solutions)

This certainly sounds like the Logic engine!
You could try to edit the WIN.INI, as you would do with Logic, and disable the MS GS Software Wavetable Synth, i.e.
"MidiOut_Microsoft_GS_Wavetable_SW_Synth=0"

Well, one day on and I've discovered that I posted this in the wrong section. Since I've also discovered the solution I suppose all is well. If anyone is interested here's what to do. In the file "win.ini" (in the windows home folder) you might find references to "microsoft gs -something- synthesizer. These references should be set to "0". In my case there was not only a reference to Magix music studio, but also one for "sound diver" (where did that come from???). Both should be set to "0". Do not forget to backup your win.ini file before doing this! This solution is more or less what you can also find in the "FAQ" section for Logic (Magix is basically the same, i've found out). What the FAQ doesn't say is that it is imperative that you disable the wave player in Magix (the wave player is a track, which you can't delete (duh), but that is basically a sample player, I don't know if logic has this). You disable it in the same "audio and hardware" dialog where you set asio4all as a driver. Et voilà. Success!!!
