Hi Michael,
just wanted to add my (very) positive experience with ASIO4ALL here. I'm a user it since V1.7 and a fan since. On my FSC Amilo 7400 notebook I finally found the time to install Reason and ASIO4ALL V2.4 and it works like a charm.
I achieve a latency of just 2ms. No drop-outs, hiccups or lags, even with bigger setups. Soundcard is AC'97, "Crystal WDM Audio" (so it's the built-in audio of the i855 chipset), driver version 5.10. Sound quality is *very* ok for me (using some good headphones), but I'm a bit damaged due to listening to loud drum&bass and electronic music ;-)
Using ASIO4ALL parameters: ASIO buffer size: 128 samples Latency compensation: both "In" and "Out" set to 0 (zero) Use Hardware Buffer: no Kernel Buffers: 2 Always resample....: no (did'nt notice any difference besides a slightly higher CPU load upon activation of this option) Force WDM Driver to 16bit: yes (without it hisses and and scratches like an old vinyl that was collecting dust for 30 years in a row) Sample Rate in Reason: 48000 Hz
To sum up: great stuff, and thank you very much for this great tool!
Cheers, Micha
