Although I am not using ASIO4All in my current setup, I am a big fan. I was wondering if a new feature could be added. I would like to see ASIO4All be able to aggregate multiple ASIO devices. I have a Yamaha MLAN device that only has 2 inputs under WMD, but has 18 inputs as an ASIO device. I would love to use this device in conjunction with the Line6 UX2 which also only has 2 WMD outputs, but has 4 ASIO outputs. I really wish there was some way to roll these various ASIO devices into a single ASIO device under ASIO4All.

Hi,
well one of the main disadvantages of ASIO is that only one device at one time could be used. So it seems to be impossible to 'merge' to devices using their ASIO drivers, but it seems to be possible to merge the devices using their WDM drivers, but this would not be what you want.

Sorry to interrupt, I don't seem to understand something very basic:
The impossibility to use more than a device simultaneously comes with Steinberg's ASIO specification, with ASIO4ALL's design, or something entirely different (like the way Windoze handles things)?

Yeah, me too. If I am not mistaken the impossibility comes with the ASIO spec. I think the clocking issues make supporting multi device functionality a nightmare. The clocking issues for me would not be a problem because I can run all my stuff off a single clock. For those who couldn't I don't think it would work very well. I would love to even try an unsupported, experimental shot at this.

i've dabbled in it with my m-audio audiophile 24/96(2 in 2 out analog) and my edirol fa101 (8 i/o analog, firewire(!))-asking for trouble i realize.... and they will load in nuendo 3, but i'm still messing with it...i have a line 6 guitar port and i'd love to hoodk them all up, but without a master clock i am hoping just to get lucky with the m-audio and the edirol

You can use multiple devices with ASIO4ALL just fine if they each have WMD drivers. Just wish that ASIO4ALL could also serve to wrap other ASIO drivers.
