Dear Marcobaldus.
Of course I know there's loads of different BIOSes out there, but my BIOS, which is an American Megatrends job (I know there's many different flavours of that one, too!) lets you turn off (disable) internal sounds. Which includes the Microsoft Synth. You still get the opening chord, but if I output MIDI to the Wavetable Synth after that I just get silence. I've double-checked it by turning it back on from BIOS, when I output MIDI to it with it turned back on, you once more get noise.
I thought I'd better check it both ways just so I didn't look an even bigger prat than usual!!
I hope your BIOS has sound control in it.
Yours respectfully - if there's any other way of doing it, I'll find out and come back here with it -
