Hi! I have some prob. with my Audigy 2 card, when testing your prog ver 2.1. Os XP Home sp1, DirectX 9.0c, Motherboard:MSI KT3 Ultra2 (MS-6380E). The pc usualy hangs when I start "a large prog" where I can select your driver. What setting do you recomend for this type of problem: Large buffersize? large value in " Latency comp"? Would hardware buf help? I have tried to play with dif value, but it did not help. Do you know of a "small test prog" where you can select card and ASIO dev. I have searched, but did not find any where I could select device. (I tried to do copy and past of "Asio4All controll panel" , but did not manage) The driver for Audigy2 is the latest from creative. (think my prob. is the motherboard as I had problem to install Audigy2, works only in one slot, or the "large prog") rgds Kjell

Hello Kjell,
If the "large prog" crashed when ASIO4ALL was already loaded, the next time you start "large prog" you should get the ASIO4ALL crash recovery message box and the driver will come up in "Safe Mode", meaning that actual audio will be disabled and a 2-in 2-out generic audio device emulated such that the host wouldn't know the difference. You can then safely open the ASIO4ALL control panel and make the necessary adjustments. Once you close it, audio will be enabled again.
OTOH, it seems that you do not even get to the point in your "large prog" where you could select ASIO4ALL for the first time.
If "large prog" comes from Steinberg, it may well be that your troubles are with the ASIO/MME setup, which does not always finish on all systems before creating a mess.
In which case you would kill the ASIO/MME etc. drivers by openening regedit->HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWAE\ASIO\ and removing the entries there that you do not like.
The smallest program to see if things would generally work is the ASIO4ALL desktop control panel. This is a mini ASIO-host that starts the driver in exactly the same way "a large prog" would.
