hi, i use asio4all to run asio multitrack in ableton live4.0.3, with audiotrak maya ex (2in/6out usb device). after some initial troubles with instalaton etc. everything seemed to work fine, but strange thing happend: after abot an hour of perfect performance, the sound quality always decreases dramatically, the output is sudenly full of crackling and hissing noises which sound slightly like hard overdrive, while aso4all's control panel shows "beyond logic" icon on both inputs and outputs. simple un- and repluging of the device seems to fix everything, but the problem return after another hour or so. it would'nt be so serious, if i didn't need to play longer sets of music (i do...). don't you have any idea how to fix this? i can also post you your debugging test's results, record of that broken sound or anything useful, please let me know. thanks a lot, swettr

This sounds like the protocol between the USB audio driver and the Maya got stuck at a certain point or some internal stuff in the USB audio driver got confused.
Apart from the well known Multimedia-Timer-Overflow (after 40-something days uptime) that affects all of Windows, there is no time-bomb-alike thing in ASIO4ALL. During testing, I had stuff running for multiple days just to make sure!
So this must be caused by some other event in the system that strikes after an hour or so.
Are you able to forcefully re-create the situation by putting the system under heavy stress while audio is running? Surfing the Internet would be a good starter.
In addition, it appears that I have found a way to avoid the (USB) Soundblaster MP3+ turn silent on the output after a number of restarts (This may be related to your problem, as also only re-fitting the device cures this)
If you dare to test some stuff, PM me with an address I can send it to!

hi, after some experiments i managed to use a4all with ableton & maya ex for several hours without crackles or other problems, folowing these rules: 1. uninstal onboard sound device 2. don't try to run other music software at the same time with ableton, especially if it runs in non-asio mode 3. don't try to run non-asio tracks in ableton itself 4. don't try to proceed any settings in a4all config or even open the control panel during the session. this seems to cure (or at least bypass) the problem, all works fine with neglegable latencies, which allows to use the computer as an effect rack for realtime vocals etc. most of all, i'd like to say my thankyou for a4all, it helped me a lot, cause audiotrak did not include a valid asio driver into their software pack shipped with maya ex, which would make an useless piece of plastic from it. great that people like you sill exist, sharing their knowledge and experience. swettr
