Hi there,
Just installed Asio4All v2 but my (usb) soundblaster doesn't work when running Traktor 2. Control panel is all ok. I guess it's that dreadful MS GS Software Wavetable Synth causing trouble again.
I'm running Cubase (pc) but don't seem to find the midi-out solution there. Would you be able to help me out on finding the right buttons in Cubase?
Many thanx in advance!!! zorn

If the control panel looks all o.k., the MS GS... is not to blame.
During testing with a Creative Mp3+ I noticed that occasionaly it would just turn silent on the outputs and not recover from this state unless it is being unplugged and plugged back in. If you try this procedure when the audio app is running, you have to reset the driver twice after re-fitting the device, e.g. in the Cubase audio menu, hit "reset" twice, or open/close the ASIO4ALL control panel twice (each of which will cause a driver reset)

I did some more tests with the MP3+. After installing the Creative drivers, I have been able to reproduce the problem. Sound will not work until you disable the input.
Since ASIO4ALL v2 locks input to output (in order to make sure no input is lost), the preliminary state of my investigation lets me conclude that the CT driver is a piece of dark brown matter with a bad smell and hardly usable for recording. Which is a shame since the MP3+ is an otherwise perfectly capable piece of affordable audio hardware.
Luckily, there is a workaround: Install the standard Windows USB audio driver! This works at much lower latencies.
The downside is that the CT gimmicks, like software-emulated EAX and software-emulated whatnot will not work while their driver is not in use.
The procedure is easy and can be reversed at any time should it be desired that the gimmicks work again:
1.) Open Device Manager 2.) Right click on "Sound Blaster" and select "Update Driver" 3.) Windows will try lure you into making it phone home - Select: "Not this time." <Next> 4.) Select: "Install from a list or specific location" <Next> 5.) Select: "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install." <Next> 6.) Make sure that "Show compatible hardware" is enabled and select "USB Audio Device"
Done! The same procedure can be used to switch back to the CT driver.
