Hello,
i recently purchased an Acer travelmate 4001 laptop, it is a 1.5GHz centrino, and has 1GB memory... the onboard soundcard is a conexant AC-link. I had hoped i could use the ASIO4ALL drivers to run low latency, but it seems the drivers aren't really compatible with this soundcard, because i cannot get it to run on a normal latency. The regular directX/WDM drivers seem to perform better, but still i have to set it at 14 or higher latency to avoid crackles. Anyone has some ideas? I've read about replacing the conexant drivers with ALI drivers but i have no idea where to look

after some system-checks it seems that the onboard audio is an Intel 82801DBM ICH4-M AC97 chipset, in other words it seems to be emulated audio hardware...what the conexant link exactly is i don't know...

it seems to be better now i replaced the conexant drivers with standard intel 82801dbm AC97 drivers... i have to experiment a little more though..
