Hello,
I just installed XP pro instead of Xp home and a big problem started. i just can't fix it.
Everything is fine in asio4all, cubase or kristal's panel but when i switch the monitor on, a big sound starts and never stop. In fact, it's some kind of endless echo, some kind of loop. Even when i don't play the guitar, there's that strange sound echoing endlessly. When i'm playing, it's like a delay. I just don't know what to do, everything was just perfect before.
That must be some kind of feedback between the "in" and the "out" because when one of those is disabled in asio4all panel, there's no problem anymore (but i can't record or play, so there's still a problem ).
Does anybody have an idea please ?
I've got an Acer Aspire 1353 with a realtek ac97 chip.
Thx.

Don't know what soundcard you're using, but this usually occurs when the recording mixer for you soundcard is set to record 'What U Hear' or similar (eg records the playback as well as the line in). If this is the case, find the recording mixer app for your sound card, then click the appropriate box to turn off this input.

Thanks for replying.
You're perfectly right. After some hard times uninstalling and installing my drivers again and again. I eventually found a process called soundman.exe running in the task list. That's the fucking crappy "special fx" stuff of my soundcard and i didn't know it was running even when not launched. It was removed using regcleaner.
Anyway, thanks again for replying.
