I just installed ASIO4ALL on my win2K system with SBLive soundcard. I had been using KxAudio's ASIO driver but wanted to try a driver tha could render a 44k file OR a 48k file. (The sound quality i got using the KxAudio driver was excellent...but would only render 48k files...)
So, I loaded a song up in FruityLoops Studio Producer Edition and (after selecting ASIO4ALL driver in Audio setup) exported (rendered) an Mp3 file. When I played back the mp3, i noticed that none of the panning fx were rendered! I checked the mp3 file properties which said the file was a 128bit, 44k joint stereo file. Any idea why the stereo field would be so dramatically affected? Where'd the stereo fx go??? Does rendering a 44k instead of 48k file normally affect sound quality so drastically? Totally puzzled......

I think... I think it's working properly now.
Noticed a bunch of Beyond Logic icons... disabled those inputs (unused Kx Audio driver inputs) Rebooted ... few more taps with the hammer and another rendering of mp3 file revealed stereo fx present in the mix. *shrugs*
only thing now is getting latency problems figured out... I started with setting of 256 samples(5ms)... now i have to have it all the way up to 1408 (31ms) and the hardware buffer set to 20ms to avoid crackles (over-runs).

Could you try with hardware buffer disabled? This is not always the best option, even when it generally would work when enabled. Also please disable _any_ device interfaces that you do not actually use. An SB Live! does not really have _that_ many _physical_ inputs and outputs does it? Another point, which confuses me, is that rendering to mp3 should have nothing to do with your audio card _whatsoever_! This is plain non-realtime number crunching all the way!
