I'm sure you'll find one with which it doesn't work. The goal, however, is to make the number of unsupported cards as small as possible.

If you don't have an official ASIO driver for your soundcard (ie: from the manufacturer), then ASIO4ALL is your best hope for decent latency.
Correction: Your ONLY hope for decent latency.

PS: So far, I haven't come accross a card where ASIO4ALL doesn't work wonders. And I've tried it on VERY MANY.

hello. have you tried these drivers on a yamaha ds2416? the 1.01`s(SW+DS 32WDM) work well, but don`t allow for `ASIO Direct Monitoring`. thanks

Since ASIO4ALL is very non-intrusive, you can usually achieve "direct monitoring" functionality by using the standard Windows mixer controls.
