Michael, thanks for the great software.
I've being running Asio4All with the Battery2 VST plugin for Cubase SX 2, with the Tascam US-122 interface.
In some cases, the performance is better with version 1.8: If I trigger drum sounds repeatedly (with mouse clicks in the Battery2 interface), there are no dropouts with asio4all 1.8. With asio4all 2.5, I start to get dropouts in the audio.
I think it may be USB related... When I run the sound through my laptop's internal SoundMAX audio (instead of the US-122), it works great with 1.8 and 2.5.

If you compare 1.8 vs. 2.5 as far as output only operation, you need to do so with inputs disabled. 2.5 will re-start the audio engine as soon as input buffers get lost, where with 1.8 input buffers would just get lost without notice. This is unimportant if you're not recording, but essential if you are.

I disabled the inputs and ran my comparison, as you suggested. 1.8 still sounded better than 2.5.
I was using a buffer size of 768 for both 1.8 and 2.5. If I increase the buffer size on 2.5 to 1024 or so, it starts to sound acceptable.
In conclusion, I have to run 2.5 with a larger buffer size to avoid dropouts. Anyone else observe this?
Thanks!
