We have windows xp home edition and an aureal 8830 with wdm sound card. When we try to run asio4all we get an hour glass and thats it. We have used smurfs ideas but the asio4all is not in our driver base. its as if it never loads. We have another xp computer with a newer sound card and it works fine with asio4all. Any ideas are appreciated

ASIO4ALL installation requires administrator privileges for one particular reason: As per the ASIO spec., a driver must register itself under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, which is not writeable from an underprivillged user account. Mind you this is for the installation only. After that, it should even work with the "Guest" account.
This is just _one_ possible reason why you may be seeing this behavior...
