I have a imac with intel core2duo T7400 (2.16ghz) cpu and have been using asio4all drivers with cubase sx 3 for about 4 months now without any problems until yesterday that is.
I was running low on cpu power in a project and realised that i had not activated the multiprocessing option in the expert options. When doing this my preformance meter was cut in half (almost) and cubase started to run much better but the audio began to crackle and it sounded almost like buffer underuns.
The closer i come to 50% processor usage (cheking in windows own processor meter and cubase processor meter simultaniosly to check that i have a correct reading) the sound starts to drop out and crackle . If i deactivate the multiprocessing option the asio 4 all driver seems to work fine but i am then only running my machine at 50%
The soundcard in the imac is a sigmatel device btw
