Hi...
I'm here to fix a problem I have with ASIO4ALL in FruityLoops9.
It's very difficult for me to explain this problem(I'm Italian and my english is very bad!!!),but I'll try to be as clear as I can,so that you can understand the issue and help me.
I start from my hardware/software configuration:
-CPU : P4 3ghz
-OS : Windows XP SP3
-Audio Card 1 : Lexicon LAMBDA USB(enabled)
-Audio Card 2 : Sound Blaster Live 5.1(disabled from XP "Control Panel")
-Audio Card 3 : On board(...disabled from BIOS)
-Music Production Software : Fruity Loops 9
-ASIO Driver 1 : Lexicon Lambda ASIO Driver (with this driver I have latency and CPU overload problems)
-ASIO Driver 2 : ASIO4ALL 2.9
-MIDI Keyboard : M-AUDIO Keystation 49e USB(mute)
This is my problem description:everytime I open an old saved project with FruityLoops9(using the ASIO4ALL driver as default ASIO driver)I can't hear anything when I try to play the project or when I try to play the M-AUDIO keyboard.
From FL9 "Audio Settings" I open the ASIO4ALL Control Panel. In this panel I see that my LAMBDA output is disabled(with a red X),so I can't use it!If I put the mouse pointer on the disabled output a popup appears, and this popup says that the output is used from another application, called "MS GS Software Wavetable Synth".Here I post a picture so you can understand:
My first question is:how can I disable the "MS GS Software Wavetable Synth" in WinXP???Maybe from the FruityLoops9 "MIDI Settings"?Ok,take a look to this picture and check if there's something wrong in my FruityLoops9 "MIDI Settings":
Second question(about the last picture):do you think it is normal I have on the top of the MIDI output list "MIDI Mapper Microsoft"?
Now I'm sure that you are thinking that I have to check WinXP Control Panel:in XP Audio Settings I select "USB Speakers" in the "MIDI Playback" box(and NOT "MS GS Software Wavetable Synth"),as shown in the following picture:
At this point I give you a strange datail about the ASIO4ALL control panel that you can see in the first picture I posted:if I try to switch on LAMBDA input and output, then off, then on,then off again...etc...etc...,for about 1 minute,THE OUTPUT MAGICALLY APPEAR ENABLED!!!and I can use my FruityLoops9!BUT THIS IS NOT NORMAL!!!
I give you another strange detail:before the LAMBDA Audio Card,I used the Sound Blaster Live 5.1,and with this card I had no problem in using ASIO4ALL.Maybe you will ask me why I don't use the original LAMBDA ASIO driver...Because with the ASIO4ALL I have a better reduction of latency and CPU load.
I hope you can understand me and my bad english...and I hope you can help me to fix this problem.
Thanks a lot to all!!!
