From the top, I'm about to go on the road, so I dont have the use of my beloved studio and my Technica AT4050ST, I purchased a Behringer C-1U microphone (as you do) then grabbed my laptop and began the whole set up process, which is as follows.....
Dell Laptop Windows VISTA 32bit
It was all going fine and dandy for installation, Asio (latest version) had the nice big fat green play sign next to the C-1U and I went word for word via the ASIO Installation Guide but when I tried to record I sounded like I was 1 mile away instead of 1 foot and the sound levels were to say the least, more rigid than the Swiss Alps.
I blasted the microphone intake and volumes up, raised my voice and what not, then eventually lost the will to live and contacted Behringer for some advice.
I was told to replace the Standard Windows Driver with the ASIO4ALL driver located in:
Computer > Local Disc (C:) > Windows > System 32
When trying to do so (manually) through 'Update Device Drivers' it relentlessly told me (I quote) Windows has all ready installed the latest driver!!!!
HELP!!!!

Hey dude
So I have the behringer c-1u as well, I just bought it about 2 weeks ago. BTW Im running FL studio 9 producer edition.
So the first problem I had was the same volume issue you're having, but fret not: its a simple fix. Just go:
start menu>devices and printers> then right-click the C-1U (you might have to scroll down)>sound settings>recording (its a tab up top)>click the C-1U>properties>levels (its another tab up top)>and then bring the knob all the way to 100 and you should be good to go.
So after that, the volume worked fine and I was able to adjust accordingly in my music software.
However, the new (and as of this writing, still very fucking much present) problem I'm experiencing is that when I have the microphone hooked up and my recording software running, every so often I'll start to get crackling and popping. Ive adjusted the buffer settings, and it only delays the glitching. Hopefully you dont run into this. Best wishes!
-someone like you

Thanks Frankie, I did exactly what you've told and it worked like magic.
