I have put Pro Tools 10 onto a HP Pavilion dv7 with beats audio and installed asio4all v2.10 and I get "no sound" from the laptop's on board speakers when asio4all is selected? Pro Tools 10 is playing the project ok. The project was recorded and mixed on a Toshiba P300 with pro tools 9. Both laptop's have a m-audio fast track ultra 8R digital audo interface installed on them and they both record and play back fine when the m-audio i/o is used. Initially I did have problems getting audio from speakers and head phones on Toshiba with Pro Tools 9. After changing settings in asio4all control pannel I did sucessfully get the audio to play on the Toshiba's onboard speakers and headphone jack and could do mixing using the Toshiba native through the Toshiba speakers or headphone with the asio4all i/o selected. I have not had the same luck on the HP laptop. Both laptops run windows 7 the Toshiba is 32bit and HP is 64bit. Both have 2 hard drives. Is there any chance that there is a solution to "no sound" on a HP Laptop on board Beats sound system or headphones??? Any advice would be appreciated Cheers __________________ Norman Hamley www.malibugroove.com

I now have audio from HP Laptop speakers and headphone when running Pro Tools 10 Native The fix 'i think' was to go to Windows 7 - Computer Management - Device Manager - Sound, video and game controllers - (uninstalled IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) and restart computer. I then clicked on the disabled speaker control that appeared in the taskbar and allow windows to find driver and installed audio device driver High Definition Audio Device (which now appears in Windows 7 - Computer Management - Device Manager - Sound, video and game controllers)
ASIO4ALL v2.10 screen now appears with different Audio Devices in the WDM Device List
I have found that the different driver that is now used by HP Pavilion Dv7 running Windows 7 is compatable with Pro Tools 10 working native on HP Laptop using ASIO4ALL through to the onboard speakers/headphone
I will try out M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R USB audio interface and the Focusrite VRM USB audio interface over the next few weeks and test that Pro Tools 10 is still working correctly with these as well as HP Laptop native through onboard speakers/headphone
This allows me to do some mixing and mastering whilst travelling
Hope this will help any other Pro Tools users that have had simular problems
