I'm having a problem with my Ableton Live and Asio4all. Let me start by saying that i had this working for a long time, and only recently this problem occured. I don't know what triggered it, but since it happened I already formatted my laptop twice, and spent hours trying to solve it...
Here it goes:
All of a sudden, i start getting a red Asio4all icon everytime I open Live. I go to Audio Preferences, everything looks ok but Live is not responsive to MIDI (APC40, and laptop keybord), and is kinda slow... No sound as well.
I Open Hardware Setup, and asio4all seems ok too. My usual device (AKAI EIE soundcard) is Active, along with the input and output (same as always).
I find out that if I select the Realtek device (laptop speakers), Live works ok (no delays, MIDI working fine). Asio icon turned green.
Since I dont want the Realtek device, I started changing things up to see what happened. Oddly, everytime i activate both input and output on my EIE device, asio icon turns red, MIDI signals are lost, no sound, and Live takes forever to do anything. But if i only activate one (either the input or output), icon turns green and Live works like a charm. However, I need them both active! If I chose only the Input, I can't hear what I'm playing. If I chose only the Output, I can't record anything.
I can even select the Input to be my EIE and the output to be my Realtek laptop speakers and it works ok, but it's not how it's supposed to be configured! I just can't activate both input and output from the device EIE.
It is not a matter of input or output being already in use by other applications. If I activate them both simultaneously, they seem to be ok (blue icons), but the ASIO4all icon in the system tray becomes red.
I really don't know where the problem is (asio or Live or something else), but I know it worked before with the same configuration.
The other settings seem to be ok:
On the midi ports, everything is off apart from the APC40 (track and remote ON) and another midi keybord (track ON).
Driver type and Audio device are "Asio" and "Asio4all v2" respectively.
Running on Windows 7, 32 bit.
Ableton Live 8.2
I have an AKAI EIE usb soundcard, an APC40, and a midi keybord.
I don't have any other webpage opened (with youtube, soundcloud, whatever...)
Can anyone help me out?!
Thanks in advance!
