I am attempting to write a piece of software that uses ASIO drivers to capture stereo audio from an ASIO device. My area of difficulty is due to using a third party audio component (Audio Lab from Mitov.com). The way the third party utility works is that you set up the capture device during design timer. You set the device name, output channels sample rate as so on. However, the code to do this is not visible...it is part of the the .net library component. So, if I want to change the device at run time I will have to set up the asio device correctly and I am not sure what the steps involved are.
I know you need the name of the device, sampling rate, buffer size etc. But what are all the steps need to actually have the device set up accordingly?
I have tried something like this:
asio device close asio device name = "ASIO4ALL" asio sampling rate = 41000 asio device open
However, this does not seem to be enough to actually connect me to the device. Can anyone tell me the steps that are necessary to open an ASIO device in code please? It doesn't have top be programming code. Just the steps as above.
Thanks a lot. Tom
