Hello guys...
Few days past, I bought a new computer, that came with Windows Vista Home Premium and Realtek HD Soundcard and I'm with some problems when I try to use Guitar Rig 3 and/or Cubase, that uses Asio4all.
When I open any program that uses audio output, like Guitar Pro or WMP, the Audio Output become unavaible at the Asio4All Offline Settings, and I can't use this programs with Guitar Rig...And when I open the Guitar Rig first, I can't use WMP or Guitar Pro...
I want to know, if there's any solution for my problem...Because I really need to use this programs together.
Thanks for your attention, DarkIgor

I am having a similar problem. I too have vista home, realtek HD and im trying to get Guitar Rig or Amplitube 2 to work. Now I got it to work with directx, but with latency of around 16ms+, so thats no good.
For direct, for input I can choose: DS Speakers (Realtek HDA) DS Realtek Digital Output (Realtek HDA)
I choose the speakers and it works. For output I only have 1 choice DS line in (Realtek HDA), I just choose that and it works.
For asio however these don't come up. When I go to routing it gives my a bunch of things to pick from in input and none of them seem to work. For output it just says Not connected 1, not connected 2. I can provide more details if someone thinks they can help.
Thanks in advance, Pringle.

No one knows nothing about it? Were in the same boat heh, I guess now. I really want to make it work, 17 ms delay sucks.

Ok after some tinkering around and going to realteks website and dling a vista 32 driver. I got somewhere. For some reason my HD realtek little control panels gone. On the other hand after reinstalling asio, and tinkering around i was able to get HD Mixed Audio Capture as the input HD Audio Headphone/Speakers as output Then are both green in the config box and both inputted into GR 3 but I'm getting no sound . Someone help, problem after problem for me.

Same here, when I was using the XP I could play both Guitar Rig and Guitar Pro together, but now with vista it's impossible. So to play my guitar I have to stop whatever sound coming from the PC. I hope there's a solution for this or bye bye Vista.

Hey guys, just to say, I am having this problem also, my laptop is vista with realtek HD audio, and on cubase sx 3 with asio4all I get no audio whatsoever. When i switch back to the normal asio multimedia driver, i get audio, but the latency is something stupid like 70ms, making recording completely impossible. I can still get it to reduce latency on VST instruments, through my midi keyboard it has no troubles with that at all, but the audio, asio4all is producing a great big zero . This is a common problem now as there are a few of us with the same problem, hopefully some amazing brilliant person who is more intelligent than me will find out how to fix this. I'm going to email to guy who made asio4all to start with lol. ~ Tom.

Same problem: I have a Acer Aspire 7720G with Realtek HD built in sound card. I configured Guitar Rig 3 all right, just like I've done on my desktop PC, where it worked fine (with indecent quality though, 'cause the output device was a monitor-mounted speaker...).
This time I get a bunch of devices "Beyond logic". They become "Available" when I disable a pair of 'em, but Guitar Rig keeps reproducing just the metronome: the input meter stands still.
I've been able getting some output in Direct sound mode, but the latency is untolerable (45 ms).
I think (hope someone confirms that) that there are some compatibility problems with Realtek WDM drivers, because ASIO panel shows "Beyond logic" devices when they are all enabled at a time.
Here's my configuration, just in case someone needs to know: Acer Aspire 7720G Intel Core 2 duo T7500 (2.2 Ghz, 800Mhz FSB, 4 MB L2 Cache) Ati Mobility Radeon HD2600 (512 MB dedicated, up to 1280 MB) video card 2 GB DDR2 memory Realtek HD audio integrated sound card

Same problem. My analog output is available when I am NOT using the ASIO4all driver. When I turn the driver on the conexant HD audio output is marked as unavailable so I get no sound!

What was the outcome when you checked your audio application's MIDI settings WRT the MS GS Software Wavetable Synth?

I think (hope someone confirms that) that there are some compatibility problems with Realtek WDM drivers, because ASIO panel shows "Beyond logic" devices when they are all enabled at a time. Actually, this is sort of normal, because the Realtek driver advertises all possible interface configurations at once even though it is unable to operate all of them at the same time. Simply disable the ones you don't want to use!

Simply disable the ones you don't want to use! This is OK, Michael. Actually I've already tried this, but I still get no output from my guitar. Still, I think our problem is related to the compatibility between ASIO4ALL and Realtek WDM drivers. I've tried to do something this way: here's what I've obtained. I've updated Realtek HD drivers to 1.89 ver. Here's the link: www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=falseFirst time I launched the "conventional" setup: after rebooting, the input meter in Guitar rig 3 started moving (I was trembling with joy...), but still I could hear just the metronome beating. After that I've started Winamp and discovered with horror that the audio quality had drastically dropped down. So I downloaded from the Acer support site the original drivers and installed them. The situation kinda rolled back to the beginning. Then I manually updated the drivers from the Device manager panel by selecting the new driver directory and simply overwriting the existing drivers. Here's what I've obtained: ASIO4ALL has become able to handle one more device (this time just one device becomes "Beyond logic"), but the input meter in Guitar rig 3 stands still. I tried using direct sound, Guitar rig works all right, with good audio quality, but with an intolerable 18ms delay. I've also tried to load Guitar rig as a vst plugin in Sonar, but the results (with both ASIO and Direct sound) were the same as before. A curiosity? When I switch between Direct sound and ASIO in Guitar rig 3, the program crashes and won't load anymore. This doesn't happen in Sonar, where the results are always the same. Hope someone can help me, 'cause I'm going crazy!

Seems like this is the place I need to hang out to find a solution to this nightmare. I have exactly the same symtoms as you guys on my Aspire 5920g using Cubase 4le and a Samson C01u Mike.
Do we just wait for a new driver or does this mess require a more drastic/expensive remedy?

Yeah, just as you say... a nightmare, because you may also find some incoherent behaviour between different software. Guitar rig, for example, hangs with new drivers when used as standalone, but it does not when loaded as VST in Sonar 6, but in both cases it won't work.
