When I have a usb audio device in addition to my PC's onboard sound device. Deselecting the onboard device in the offline settings does not work. It becomes deselected when I click it but then if I close and open the settings panel the onboard device has been selected again.
Also if I uncheck the "always resample at 44.1 kHz" checkbox for the usb device this also is checked again after I close and then reopen the settings panel.

Hi,
I tried the 2.8 Beta 2 using SoundBlaster live 24-bit (internal),, Windows XP SP2, getting constant overload (and choppy playback) with any latency, even the highest on default settings. No problem with ASIO4ALL 2.7 whatsoever, even with the lowest latency (64).
Thanks for working on this great program, hoping this regression would be fixed..

XP Pro SP2, ASIO4ALL v2.8 Beta 2, application: Reaper v1.859. Enable/disable specific inputs/outputs doesn't persist between application sessions. Images should illustrate my problem. How it is now: How it should be upon application start: Notice that some items are enabled again, regardless I disabled them earlier (in previous session). I need to disable specific inputs/outputs because of erratic sound (maybe a bug in Reaper, I don't know that) Also, main window could be slightly bigger, perhaps size-able? TIA Przemek Czerkas

There's a problem I'm experiencing with _any_ of the A4A versions:
When adjusting the global settings in the A4A Panel, then running Winamp or FB2k using the ASIO plugin, and then using (any version of) FL Studio (and having set different A4A settings for that app),when I start Winamp or Foobar the next time,it uses the settings of FL Studio instead of the global ones (the global settings get overwritten by FL Studio). The same thing happens if I do the opposite.Looks like the FL Studio settings and the global settings are shared.
Is this a bug in ASIO4All?

I have a new Dell E1705 laptop with 2GB & Vista Premium 32 pre installed. My sound card is the basic Sigma Tel one. Windows media player worked fine until about the time I installed ASIO4ALL 2.8 beta2. I installed it to get Steinberg Sequel to record my guitar track, which now works. My new problem is that in all my CD's ripped to my hard drive in MP3, each song has one skip for about 2 seconds occurring always about 85% of the way thru every song of any length. Playing the CD in the DVD drive for the same song works fine. I am not sure if this is even an ASIO4All issue. Dell tech support was unable to resolve the problem. Their final option is to format the hard drive & reinstall everything which I don't want to do obviously! Any ideas? Thanks.
Update...checking other ideas, I found that once the song has played past the point where it skipps, I can restart before that point & it sounds fine the 2nd time thru. If I go to another song & return, the skip comes back. I have messed with most of the settings with no change in the problem.

Garth ... in the system tray right click the sound icon ... select playback options.
Highlight Speakers/Headphones ... select properties.
Select the Enhancement tab ... check the box for Disable all Enhancements ... apply/ok
This should fix your problem with the 85% issue. I had the same problem and there is an incompatability with the Sigmatel audio driver and Vista.
Good luck.

When I enable inputs on the SB Card, I get a BSOD. OS: Windows Vista Ultimate ASIO Drivers: ASIO4ALL 2.8 Beta 2 Sound Card: SB Live! 24-BIT External Sound Card: SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio Laptop: HP NC6000 Memorry: 1024 MB
This happens in both ASIO Config through Traktor preferences and in ASIO4ALL offline settings

I've experienced a slowdown as well. I'm using ASIO4ALL with: Athlon64 two core 4200+ 2GB 667MHz DDR USB Creative SoundBlaster Live! (With the creative USB driver) GuitarRig2 host 48KHz sampling
In 2.6 / 2.7 I can run the buffer size down to 120 samples. With 2.8 beta 1 and 2, this has increased to 208 samples before drop outs. Using the version posted on page 3 of this thread, 176 samples. These are all still excellent to my ears though; thank you for continuing to maintain this program!

Hi!
I can't get ASIO4ALL 2.8 to work with my Creative SB Audigy. ASIO4ALL does not seem to correctly recognize its output ports.
When I use ASIO driver from Creative, I get 20 various outputs: 1 Wave, 2 Wave, 3 Front L/R, 4 Front R/L etc. I then select two first (Wave 1/2) and playback is fine.
However, ASIO4ALL lists "Creative Audio Processor" with 8 outs. No matter which of them I select, there is no output on playback.
I saw an older post with similar problem, but I haven't found any resolution to it.
Thanks in advance.

How ever I tried even with high buffers and latencysettings, the beta2 would always make my sound click every now and then using the 2.8 b2 release. I tried downgrading to 2.8 b1 and this one seems to work fine with out-of-the-box settings.
I only use it to play music using winamp. (I got the same problems using foobar2k)
setup is: c2d 2.4, 2gig. 680i mobo. ADI 1988b soundchip.

Thank you for your answer: I've cleaned upp all unessesary powermanagementfunctions directly in bios during some overclockingtests. Also, the sound works perfectly using the older beta 1 and I changed nothing, just uninstall and install the other version.
